Bronze medalist of the 2022 Olympics biathlete Maxim Tsvetkov told how he was affected by the removal of Russian athletes from international competitions. It is reported by “Match TV”.
According to Tsvetkov, he had problems with motivation. “When you are in the national team, and the Olympic Games have passed, then you are at least preparing for the World Cup. In the current situation, you don’t understand what you are preparing for, ”said the Olympic medalist.
The athlete added that he understands the importance of participating in domestic competitions to keep fit. At the same time, according to Tsvetkov, the results of Russians in conditions of insufficiently high competition will fall.
On March 29, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended the membership of the Russian Biathlon Union and the Belarusian Biathlon Federation. On March 2, the IBU Executive Committee banned Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international competitions.
