British rock band Pink Floyd will sell the copyright to their songs for half a billion dollars. It is reported by Bloomberg.
It is noted that the band plans to sell a catalog of their music and the ability to create products based on the band’s brand. The musicians want to make a deal worth at least $500 million.
According to the publication, potential buyers are Warner Music Group Corp., Sony Music Entertainment and BMG. If the deal goes through, it will be one of the largest sales in the history of the industry.
In April, Pink Floyd released a new song for the first time in 28 years. The last time the musicians released the song was in 1994. The name of the band’s new track is Hey Hey Rise Up. Together with the composition, the musicians also released a video, which was posted on YouTube at midnight.
