Producer Alexander Rodnyansky in his Telegram channel announced his refusal to work in Russia and stressed that he would not deal with films and series in Russian.
“Don’t send me ideas for Russian films and series. I don’t produce them. My company in Russia is closed. I am fully focused on producing international projects for global platforms. In English and other languages,” wrote the cinematographer.
He noted that he has plans related to Ukraine. According to Rodnyansky, he is currently thinking about a project that will “significantly expand the capabilities of Ukrainian filmmakers, directors, authors and producers” and help them integrate into international cinema.
The producer also confirmed that this year the Kinotavr festival will not take place due to the Russian military special operation on the territory of Ukraine. He stated that holding film festivals in such conditions is impossible for ethical reasons.
Alexander Rodnyansky is a director, producer and media manager. He is one of the top 500 most influential people in the global film industry according to Variety. Rodnyansky is also the president of Kinotavr and a member of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
