The 2019 detective film Knives Out was named Monocle. Director Rian Johnson announced this on his Twitter account.

A sequel to the film is slated to release at the end of 2022. The exact date of the premiere is still unknown.

The film will feature Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe and Katherine Hahné. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as Benoit Blanc.

The director wrote that in his series of films he takes an example from the detectives of Agatha Christie. In his opinion, the writer never allowed repetition in her work.
