According to her, the recommended daily dose for a healthy adult is an average of 400 grams, or 10-16 large strawberries. “For children from one to three to eight large strawberries,” she said.
The specialist also said that patients often complain of allergies to red berries, primarily strawberries, strawberries and raspberries. She explained that the reaction of the body is due to the high content of histamine in red berries, which can cause skin itching, redness and rash, swelling and itching in the mouth, as well as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.
At the same time, there are also cases of severe allergies – anaphylaxis to strawberries, raspberries, as well as peaches, apricots. Such an allergy is expressed by general weakness up to loss of consciousness, collapse, bronchospasm, the doctor said. These symptoms can be life threatening, she said.
